Being a crime victim, and being involved in the criminal justice process, can be a difficult experience especially for someone who is gay / lesbian / bisexual / transgender. Some gay / lesbian / bisexual / transgender crime victims find that they cannot take advantage of the traditional support systems, such as friends and family, which are available to other crime victims. Some may feel vulnerable and lonely and may want to discuss the details of their victimization with someone who is sensitive to their concerns. Still others may need more information about the criminal justice process. The Advisor to the District Attorney for Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender Issues can provide such assistance.
